He made these observations at the concluding ceremony of two-day Pakistan Horti Expo 2019 arranged by the Punjab Agriculture Department to highlight the importance of fruits, vegetables and high value agriculture crops of country at International level.
High Ups of Agriculture department, farmers and stakeholders also participated in it. The event consisted of more than 100 exhibits by agriculture technology and input providers, fruit and vegetable processors, wholesalers, retailers, exporters and various government and non-government organizations. Over 25,000 visitors attended this edition of the expo, including foreign delegates and prospective buyers from 30 countries.
Dr Ghazanfar Ali, Additional Secretary Agriculture speaking on the occasion said that about 80 percent of the country's foreign exchange originates from agriculture and Punjab contributes over 60 percent to this amount.
